Question:
University DENTAL student seeks patients! ?
Answer:
In response to Dr. Joe, I would like to mention that I have had my son at
Pitt's Dental Program for the past two years and have been completely
satisfied, not only with their work but also with their care. In the
process of having his braces he has been in twice for teeth extractions.
Now this is not a pleasant experience but both times they have been very
helpful with followups and explanations both before and after. I highly
recommend Pitt's Dental Program.
Yes, the school does accept Blue Cross Dental. In fact they will accept
almost any plan except "Gateway." I hear that may be changing soon.
Hours:
Monday through Friday
10:00am-12:00pm
1:00pm- 3:30pm
2:00pm- 4:30pm
Really it depends on what needs to be done. Thank you for asking though.
I am happy to answer just about any question! Unfortunately I do not have
the authority to administer advice without proper guidance and supervision
afforded by my professor-Dentists at the University.
I just wanted to add that when I first came to Pittsburgh, I needed an
emergency wisodm tooth extraction, and couldn't find a dentist or oral
surgeon in the city who would do it at any price. Finally, someone's
secretary recommended the dental school.
I went in off the street, explained my situation, and they examined me,
took full mouth x-rays (not the little bitewing things), got me into
oral surgery, and extracted the tooth in about two hours total.
Total cost: 89.00 (no insurance)
A regular oral surgeon, assuming I could have found one to take me,
would probably have charged upwards of 150.00, not counting any
"emergency" charges. They also would not have trusted me enough to take
me without a credit card or other up-front payment. I got a bill in the
mail from the dental school and gladly paid it.
