Question:
My Dental plan with Kaiser expired and they aren't
renewing...
I need a new dentist. Actually, I need a couple of crowns
and
a dentist to install them.
Anybody recommend a good dentist? I'm in Tigard, but
wouldn't mind
a drive to a good dentist.
I'd also like to hear horror stories about anyone I should
avoid.
What about the franchises like Gentle Dental???
What about dental plans? Got any experience with Willamette
Dental
Group? Others?
Is there a way to look up a dentist's complaint history?
Answer:
Try Oak Grove Dental in Milwalkie.
They have payment plans, and are great.
I am personally a whimp about my teeth being messed with, so you will find
they are pretty laid back there.
Well it just so happens that my best friend of many years is the
greatest dentist in these here parts. *grin*
Can't help you with any of this stuff. I've been going to Deb for
years and have never heard any bad stuff from the other folks that go
there. I've had lots of people I know start going to her and they are
all very satisfied.
She fits three out of four: Dentist, cute and in her 40's, but alas,
she was snatched up long ago...
My dentist is great and is located at the intersection near Hall Blvd and
Scholls Ferry -- so that close to Tigard -- on the west side at least.
His name is Stephen Harbour and he is great. I'm going to need a crown
also and I have a lot of confidence in his skill. I have ODS Dental and
he is a preferred provider.
I used to belong to the Willamette Dental group and I guess it was okay,
but like most managed care operations, I felt they tended to do only the
minimal stuff. I switched to Dr. Harbour, because , for example, I wanted
to get white fillings for my teeth in the front of my mouth instead of the
amalgam silver.
I also recently had a more serious problem with one of my back molars and
appreciated Dr. Harbors desire to first and foremost do what he could to
preserve the tooth. And it worked!
Dr. Harbour also uses onlays when he can instead of crowns to preserve
more of the tooth. I like his attitude and approach to dentistry! And I
am also a great avoider of PAIN, so that says a lot about how good he is
about making the process as pain free as he can.
Crowns are expensive though -- even ODS will only pay 50% of the costs.
Let's see, as for cute in their 40's and single, hmmmmm . Well he is not!
LOL but the dental assistants are pretty cool!
